Welcome and Introduction

Hello Parents!

Welcome to our classroom blog. My name is Mrs.Babalola and I am your child's 4th grade teacher. I told the students that they may call me Mrs.Babs, so you might hear them refer to me as that. I am so excited for this school year. I wanted to share a little bit about me. I graduated from Grand Canyon University in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education. This is my first year teaching, but I have done countless hours of observation and practicum as well as extensive student teaching. I consider patience as my best quality. I've also been described as thoughtful, selfless, dedicated and encouraging by my colleagues. I plan to use these attributes along with my quality education to give your students the best education that they can receive. We have so many resources at our disposal and I plan on taking full advantage of them.

My teaching philosophy is fairly simple. I plan on having routines in place and teach from a curriculum that is evidence and research based and involves the students. You will notice that my lesson plans often include the students doing things, making things, using their five senses and more. I think learning can be and should be fun! I want your students to leave my classroom talking about everything they learn and did with Mrs.Babs and be motivated to do more. With that said, I will not be a pushover. There will be a mutual respect between myself and the students. I have promises and a contract that I will sign in front of the classroom to assure them of the expectations I have of myself to them. In return, they will do the same. We will hold each other accountable.

I look forward to teaching your wonderful children and plan on making many memories!
